The Zenova Group, a safety and thermal management technology company, announced on Monday that its "Zenova FP" fire retardant coating has been approved for use by the Borough of Enfield, London, for the first time in a 14-story residential tower.

The company that trades at AIM stated that according to local authority regulations, Zenova FP needs to be “designated” as a fire protection product before contractors can use it in buildings owned by the council.

After reviewing the independent test data of Zenova FP, the Enfield City Council found that Zenova FP meets all necessary building code classifications for fire-resistant coatings, so its use was approved by the municipal fire officials.

Zenova FP was designated as a refractory coating by Enfield, and was subsequently included in the project specifications with the borough committee by the multidisciplinary design, property and construction consulting firm Pelling, Zenova explained.

The first project to benefit from Zenova FP will be to upgrade the fire safety of the 14-story Dover House residential area-one of several projects managed by Pelling on behalf of the council.

As the London Fire Brigade recently emphasized, the London Fire Brigade revealed that there are more than 1,000 buildings in London that pose a serious fire safety risk to residents,” Zenova said. CEO Tonick Lauley.

“We are therefore very pleased that Pelling has included Zenova FP in its project, which includes improving the fire safety of residents of Dover House, and that the Borough of Enfield in London has designated Zenova FP as a fire protection product.

"Through Pelling LLP to provide consulting services for multiple London boroughs, we believe that Zenova FP can help solve the fire safety issues in the wider London area and other areas."

Crowley said that in Zenova FP, the company has a fire-resistant coating that complies with the BS EN 13501-1 standard now adopted by building regulators and has been proven to prevent fire and spread of fire.

"Zenova FP is rapidly establishing and being recognized as the leading fire retardant coating product on the market, and the Borough of Enfield in London has designated it for its own buildings. We believe that we can play an important role in improving fire safety throughout the UK. Multiple residential buildings."
